It was a privilege to hear Glen S. Fukushima speak on the impact of federal tariffs, and to learn from so many distinguished guests, Assembly members, and others. Remarks from Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kouitorou, California’s trade representative, underscored the state’s global leadership. Deputy Consul General Takeshi Ishihara of the Consulate-General of Japan in San Francisco highlighted the deep and enduring California–Japan relationship. The luncheon, Assembly floor visit, and hearing were all a meaningful learning experience.
